Diagnosing Add-ing/Get-ting problems

Nov 27, 2008 at 11:24 AM
I have problems with not getting data for the same key I used for storing this data. What is the best approach to diagnose these problems?
Thanks!

When I use the MemcachedClient API directly all works as expected - but I would like to use DistCache as I have to rely on per counter data.

Thanks.

Anyone? fahadaz?

Help is really appreciated as I think this is (or could be, for us) a great wrapper.
Thanks.

Hi ChristianWeyer,
I am sorry couldn't get to your post earlier. One way to verify that Memcached Provider is setting values is to set a value from Memcached Providers
and use either the MemcachedClient API to do a get on it or use the following telnet commands
:> telnet memcached-server 11211
:> get Key-Name
:> quit

If memcached returned a value then setup is correct and something else is going wrong. In that case I will be happy to take a look at your code.
Note: Memcached provider appends a value to key to give notion of namespace. If you are using it, then that needs to be added to the key as well in telnet or Memcached API test.

Thanks,
Fahad

Thanks for the hints.
It turned out that is was a serialization issued with WCF data contracts.
