Hi Fahad,

I'm a bit confused about which code version is the most updated and should be used.

Also, we're having a problem with the performance counters. Is there any way to disable them? I get exceptions in the case they are not existed.

Hi,

I wanted to use MemCached for storing my sessions. Following is my Config

I tried adding to Session like 
Session["test"] = some text;


But when I am getting the value, I am getting null. Where am I going wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Fahad,

Thanks for your reply. The result in my case was that the item was immediately deleted from the DB, that's why I considered it serious.

I'm glad to hear that you use this in production for a long time. What version do you suggest that I use?

Hi,
Depends on your definition of serious. All this will do is leaves item in the cache which will be ejected by the memcache after three days. Anyway this bug was reported while ago and is fixed in the branches/Suggested modification path. We have been using this code for over 4 year period in production with no issues.
If you downloaded the Memcache provider release 1.2, this is few years old.

Hi,

I'm trying to use your SessionStateProvider implementation. I found a bug in several places, where you get the TimeOut number of minutes. Your code reads (line 312, GetItem method):

objItem = Common.CreateNewStoreData(context, _objConfig.Timeout.Minutes);

But Timeout.Minutes will return 0 in case that the timeout is set to 1 hour!

It should be:

objItem = Common.Deserialize(context, objHolder.Content, (int)_objConfig.Timeout.TotalMinutes);

This mistake repeats several time throughout the code.

This brings me to ask, has anyone used this library in production settings?

If you are using the sessionprovider with the db backing store, since it hits the memcached store and then has to hit the database on every access or store, is it faster than just using the microsoft sql session state provider and if so how?

We are currently using memcachedproviders with Couchbase in production with some code modification. I will try to post that
as soon as I get a chance. If you want to try the modification yourself, just get the latest code for enyim client. It is bucket aware.

Hi,

I'm testing using memcached provider with couchbase base on your recommedation on above thread. But when I remove and re-add server from couchbase cluster (3 nodes) the memcached providers automatically marked the removed server as dead and failed to put it in active mode after the server is added back into Couchbase cluster. Is the providers implement as vbucket aware? Can you point me to where to change the providers to support Couchbase bucket.

I would like to place configsection in some other file, not in the web.config file.

Then I can swicth the diffrent cachestrategy.

Is that possible to configurate the MemcachedProviders's CacheProvider and SessionStateProvider in code behind rather then in the Web.config file?

the red word "UnixEpoch", is it should be "DateTime.Now" ?

this methed GetExpiration(TimeSpan validFor, DateTime expiresAt)

if TimeSpan validFor is valid, the methed returns the seconds from TimeSpan since now .

so , if expiresAt is valid, it need to return the seconds since now too.
